Why Maggi is an Indian classic
Instant noodles under the Maggi name have been sold in India since the 1980s, and for generations of students, travellers and hill-station tourists a steaming bowl is a rite of passage. It is the thing you make in the hostel at midnight, and the thing you eat at a mountain tea stall in the rain.

What “tadka” means
A tadka is a tempering: whole spices and aromatics sizzled in hot fat and poured over a dish for fragrance. For Maggi, that means cumin seeds, garlic and green chilli popped in butter, then stirred through the noodles so the aroma stays smoky and sharp.
